Luongo, Fred - Football: 1953-1957 considered by many to be the best Defensive
Lineman in Linden High School history. Fred's honors include 1st Team All County and All State 3 consecutive years. Parade Magazine 1st Team All American High School Player and the Parade National Player of the Year with his picture on the cover. He went on to play college and professional football.
*Lyons, Ted - Football: Played both offensive and defensive tackle positions on the 1939, 1940 and 1941 Linden High School Football Teams. Excelled in every aspect of both positions. He was considered the best lineman of his era.
*Nogi, Al - Baseball, Football, Basketball, Track: Won twelve varsity letters in three years at Linden High School, 3 each in football, baseball, basketball and track. This feat has not been accomplished since.
Riesener, Bob - Baseball, Basketball: This 1955 Linden High graduate was selected First Team All State in his Senior year with a 10-1 record and was All Union County Basketball the same year leading the County in scoring with 22.8 points per game. He attended Rutgers University and served in the United States Army. He played in the New York Yankee farm system from 1956-1960. In 1957, he had a record of 20-0 with Alexandria of the Evangeline League. Bob retired in 2003 after 30 years as the Head Coach of the University of Montevallo and 4 years at Livingston University. His overall college record was 1,045 wins and 704 losses. The wins represent the most ever in collegiate baseball coaching in the State of Alabama. When you factor in his records as a coach in high school, semi-pro baseball and in the United States Army Baseball League, his overall coaching total was 1,137 wins in 40 years.
*Smith, Robert (Bob) - Football, Track, Coach: Excelled in football and track while a student at Linden High School. Later coached the middle school and then the high school football teams. He won the 1954 and 1955 North Jersey Group III Championship.
Tate, Jamaal - Basketball: This standout basketball player was a 3
time All Union County selection and a first team All State selection
for all groups in 2000. He was co-captain of the 2000 team that won
the Group IV New Jersey State Championship. He was also named
the 2000 Player of the Year by the Home News Tribune. He currently
holds the LHS record for career points scored in a single game with 1,936 career points and 46 points scored against Elizabeth on 1-27-00. Jamaal went on to enjoy an outstanding career at Penn State University graduating in 2005. He is already a member of the Linden Athletic Hall of Fame by virtue of his 2000 LHS Basketball Team being inducted into the Hall in 2007.

Won Group IV title, State Championship Title and Star Ledger #1 Baseball Team Trophy as top high school baseball team in the State of New Jersey.
